Chestnut House Policies Check-In and Check-Out: Check-in time is normally 3 p. m. However, if you arrive earlier and your room is not ready, we will be happy to store your luggage. If you are arriving early, let us know what time so housekeeping can prioritize your room. Check-out time is 11 a.m. If you want to enjoy your last day on island, we are happy to store your luggage. We also have a spare bathroom/shower that can be at your disposal after check-out time. Deposits: Stays of one to three nights are paid in full. Stays of 4 or 5 nights require a 3 night deposit. For stays of 6 or more nights, a 50% deposit is required. Pre-payments/deposits are typically put through the same day you make your reservation. The balance is due upon arrival. Cancellations: A phone call to #508-228-0049 is mandatory for cancellations. Because of our size, cancellations affect us significantly. For any cancellation or change of dates, we must be notified at least 15 days prior to arrival for a refund of your deposit, less a 10% cancellation fee of the total room/s charges. Post-confirmation changes made to arrival or departure date may or may not be considered a cancellation. Please consult directly with the Innkeeper who can explain your options in specific terms. If we can re-book your room at no loss to the Chestnut House, a full refund – less the 10% cancellation charge will be returned. You are of course welcome to transfer your reservation to a friend or family member. We recognize that Nantucket is sometimes difficult to get to and leave from. If you have a weather related situation that prevents you from arriving on your reserved date, it is required that you call Ian beforehand to determine if there will be a change to the date of the reservation or if it will be cancelled with a refund. Travel Insurance: We realize that cancellations are sometimes beyond your control. For this reason we recommend purchasing travel insurance for peace of mind. Chestnut House will be happy to supply your travel insurance company with information regarding our policy and your reservation. Smoking: Our entire inn is a smoke free environment. Pets: Sorry, we do not allow pets. Reservations: If you find a room that meets your needs then we will be happy to discuss your plans in person and take your reservation by phone. We generally will not 'hold' rooms without a credit card transaction and ask that payments be made at the same time as the reservation. If your reservation request is accepted then an email confirmation with a confirmation number will be sent after payment is processed. Guest Responsibility: While accidents do happen, guests will be financially responsible for damage due to gross negligence. |
